NWKA Packaging
nwka (new wave kitchen appliances) was an australian importer of small kitchen gear—blenders, air fryers, induction cookers. they needed packaging and an instruction booklet for the thermochef, a multi-function appliance that blends, chops, cooks, and tries to replace a dozen tools at once.
the existing materials felt dated and dense. they wanted something that made the product feel premium, but still friendly—something a home cook wouldn’t be intimidated by.
i designed a clean, modern box layout that focused on the core features without overwhelming the customer with jargon. bold type, simple icons, and a layout that worked in retail and online settings.
for the booklet, i handled both the layout and visual direction. setup instructions were broken into clear steps, each with photos or diagrams. the second half included a set of beginner-friendly recipes—things like soups, sauces, and steamed dishes—written in plain language and paired with process visuals so users could actually follow along without guessing.
the final product helped the thermochef stand out as a user-friendly, versatile appliance, and the feedback from the client was that customers actually used the manual—rare win.
