UPDATE: Best method for disassembling a Kodak FunSaver

On the heels of finishing up my preproduction run of my Kodak FunSaver lens adapter, I’ve put a quick video together to show the best way to disassemble a Kodak FunSaver to reduce waste. I’ve saved all the AA batteries to use in my Gameboy Advance or for my Godox TT685S, I’ve saved the rolls of film for use in other film cameras, and obviously I’ve saved the lens for use in my 3d printed lens adapter.

First you’ll want to tape up the lens so that no light can pass though the shutter. Then just wind a shoot all the film (TIP: I’ve found that holding down the shutter and winding works wells to speed things up). Remove the decals and pop the film cover off with a flat head screwdriver and the film should drop out. If you don’t have a film leader retrieval tool you’ll have to pick one up or try using another negative strip to extract the leade
